From the whole universe, we can observe the absolute minimum, and we are in even worse spot when it comes to traveling to other planets or their moons. Perhaps if we discovered a completely new element on one of the planets, we could use it to invent a hyper-drive that would allow us to visit alien galaxies hundreds of light-years away.
